9. "We'll know how long it lasts when the first one wears out". Shows the very first cruiser sold in the United States and owned bought by Frank Conn of Cle Elum, Washington.Get a great piece of Cruiser history. This auction is for a Toyota Land Cruiser ad from September 1971. Ad says in part: The very first Land Cruiser sold in this country back in 1958 and is still going strong!"

10. "Used to Drive" - "Jerry Vass Used To Drive A Jeep" - Ad says in part: A couple of yeras ago, Jerry and his Jeep CJ-5 moved to Telluride, Colorado, a small mountain twon with one paved road and 200 inches of snow a year. He met Dallas Fullerton, who switched from Jeep to Land Cruisers back in ‘64. Since then, Dallas has driven nothing but Land Cruisers. "Long as they're making ‘me, I'll be driving ‘me, he said. Now Jerry feels the same way.

11. Specification Sheet - Ad says in part: "Toughest in the World! Loaded for bear ... load with more that half a ton of equipment and still have room up front to seat three husky men comfortably!. Mountains, desert, rock or river bed.. Toyota take you where you want to go! Drive though swamp, over sand or snow".

12. "Tarzan" - Ad says in part: "Edgar Rice Burroughs owns this 1968 Toyota Land Cruiser and named it Tarzan His father created Tarzan. Like Tarzan, our Land Cruiser are also tough. They're built with steel reinforcements. And all this is held together by nuts and bolts, rivets and welds. Not by a lot of sheet metal screws. This particular Land Cruiser has already made two grueling 5,000 mile trips through Mexico. While it was there, it forded rivers, climbed through jungles and towed people out of trouble. Just like Tarzan.".
