Default 1996 Toyota Tercel – 122K Miles, Clean, Efficient, Great Gas Mileage (Raleigh) $1000

This little, reliable car got me back and forth to work for a few years. I’m only selling it because we have recently combined families and now it’s an extra, unnecessary vehicle.

• Color – green
• Mileage – 121,946
• 4-Cylinder, 1.5 liter
• 4-speed manual transmission
• In-dash AM/FM stereo with single compact CD player [non-factory XDM6820 CD Receiver, 200 watts, 50 x 4 channels; factory AM/FM radio (not installed) included]
• A/C works great
• Vehicle inspection up to date – good through 02/2011
• Service paperwork dating to 2005 (as long as I’ve owned it)
• Clear title
• Driveable but minor repairs needed for optimum condition (see below)

Maintenance Needed:
At the last inspection, the garage (Merchant’s Tire) told me the car needed some maintenance work at my convenience. Since I was planning to sell the car, I asked them to write up a list and estimate. The handwriting is bad, and I’m not sure what these things mean, but here is what they wrote, the best I can decipher (I have a copy of the original):
• PO4011 EGR Flow – remove carbon from system, R&R T-body cleanout, EGR parts - $255
• FIS – rest PLM and test drive - $109
(Total - $365)

Condition and Price:
The car is in fair condition considering it’s 9 years old – clean, no rips or holes in upholstery, just normal wear. The exterior roof has just a bit of weather damage. According to Blue Book, the value for fair condition is $1,375. In light of that and the above estimated maintenance costs, I’m asking $1000.

Sales Terms:
We are available to show the car (and let you test-drive) most evenings or weekend-days. Send a message to schedule an appointment. We are located 2 miles from downtown Raleigh. If you like the car, we'll take payment (cash only), and then schedule a weekday time to transfer the title and turn over the car. My bank (CFCU) is a few miles away and offers free notary service unless you have a different preference.

Thanks for looking!
