Default Lexus IS250 '09.. scratches easily?
Does anyone have this car?















I have it in the graphite colour, and it seems to be scratching way too easily. It is as if each time I drive it, I find a new scratch somewhere on it. They are pretty noticeable too.















I have one other new car, and theres not one scratch on it.. although, it is a kia.































Does this have anything to do with the quality of lexus paint?

Japanese Paints just tend to be "softer" than other paints.































They are very high quality though and will last much longer without fading.































Get some Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 it'll take it right out and follow it up with a high quality Wax. That will help a lot.

Yes the paint is poor quality. I complained to my Toyota dealer about the same thing. I had a Solara. Nicks appeared all over the hood even tho I pampered it like a baby and was garage kept. The dealer admitted that all Toyota made cars have poor paint and very thing to save money and there was nothing could be done about it. I was furious! I dumped it in a few years and bought a new Ford. Not a nick or scratch to be found even after I had driven back roads on camping trips with the Ford. You can pay more for a Lexus--but it's still a Toyota.

They use the same cheap paint on all Toyota products including Lexus.































Kia is a low end car owned by Hyundai so the problem will be the same.































Try a Ford.

Edit: I have NEVER needed Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 on either the Ford or Oldsmobile I own.

Lexus is a softer paint so will scratch more easily. . Maybee your jsut washing and waxing your car -- this wont diminish scratches it will jsut cover them up.































The meguires scratch X i have found works great with spot scratches, better then other brands I have come across, this will fix your scratches.































Follow this up with a proper sealant, and you shodl be set.
