DEFINATELY a mix of the two. a bmw is definately a for a driver who wants to feel every little bump in the road. but yet get the style and features of a luxury car (ie, leather, navigation system, enhanced sound system etc)

Neither. It is in a class of it's own; labels be damned. From the instant I drove my first

BMW in 1995 I have not (seriously) considered another make ever since. I have owned 6 so far and I cannot wait for my lease to end.

To the uninitiated, BMW makes zero compromises in anything. The styling is on the razors edge. All the latest luxury and technology, you don't even have to worry about having something that is outdated; they create trends, they don't follow them. It is not for nothing that it is called the "Ultimate Driving Machine".

Having a bad day? Slip behind the wheel, flip on the Bluetooth and go, it never let's you down. I have outrun Porsche's, Jags, Lost to a few Corvettes, out run stupid Cops (never caught not ONCE while at speed), all over the Southwest and clowned 98% of them having a great time the whole time!! It saved my ass a couple times with the best DSC in the industry by the way.

I have also driven them all; MB (a total joke by comparison), Lexus (Soft, doesn't drive the same), Infiniti (Quirky and a pretender not a true contender), Jag (no real comment necessary). Posche (Spartan, too harsh). Suffice it to say: There is no real comparison. Neither luxury nor Sports but simply BMW. I challenge you to see for yourself!!

Its intended to be both. It is a luxury sports manufacturer hence is sports oriented back ground. The most popular vehicles in this segment for being Pure Luxury performance vehicles include mostly BMW, Audi & Infiniti. These three manufacturers focus more on performance however they are upscale luxury vehicles intended to offer the best of both worlds. Manufacturers like Lexus & Mercedes Benz although have the offerings of certain sport cars focus more on comfort and refinement opposed to performance. This is why Lexus & Mercedes tend to appeal to a more older demographic while BMW, Audi & Infiniti appeal to a younger demographic. Those in search of refinement and comfort will probably sacrifice the over all driving experience by settling for a Lexus or a Mercedes while those in search of a performance vehicle will probably be cross shopping for example an Audi A5, Infiniti G37 or BMW 335i. However the most acknowledged companies in the luxury market according to reviews and specs for having superb excellent driving dynamics include BMW and Infiniti although when you enter the High performance division like the Mercedes AMG class, Infiniti IPL line, Audi S-line and BMW M-series its no surprise that Mercedes Benz and BMW take the award for offering one of the most amazing performance engines in the luxury market.

Depends, the m series is more on the sport side and a regular One like the 7 series is more luxury. The 5 series is the best IMO
