1998 lexus GS 300 seats will not move up something electrical?

Default 1998 lexus GS 300 seats will not move up something electrical?

The car was sitting for a while i had to put a new battery in it may be something electrical for me not to be ab;e to move seat up for me to reach the gas

Probably just a coincidence about the battery. Sounds like either a fuse, or the seat motor itself is bad. Assuming the fuse is good, try moving the seat BACKWARD a little, and see if it moves. If so, the motor is fine. Check the switch. If you can locate the motor under the seat, tap on it while pressing the button, you might free up a gear or something that's got it jammed. If it starts to feel hot without moving, it's a bad motor.































If the motor moves back and not forward, try cleaning the contacts of the switch itself and see if that helps, you may have to replace the entire switch if not.
