Lexus ES 2003 previous owner drove 50000/year?

Default Lexus ES 2003 previous owner drove 50000/year?
I am interested in purchasing a 2003 Lexus Es. The only problem is that from years 2003-2007, it only accumulated 25,000 miles total. Then from 2007-2007, owner drove 50,000 in a year. From 2008 to 2010, it hit the 140,000 mark or so. Now its at 156,000. Is this good for the car? Should I be expecting problems soon with the car? How long has your Lexus ES last for?

It does not matter how much a car is driven from year to year.















It just means that the person most likely racked up those miles on long highway driving. If that is true, then it is a good car.































Cars that drive on highways most of their life tend to last longer. On the highway, a car uses little energy and fuel. In city driving, the car uses more energy and heat to accelerate over and over again instead of keeping a constant speed.































With regular maintenance and replacing wear items when needed, this car should last another 100,000 miles at least.

Stay away from this car. It is worn down and need expensive parts for proper repairs. Even if it is free of charge as in a gift from a relative unless you have plenty of money for expensive parts and repairs costs you cannot afford it. Just call a dealer and ask about replacing the transmission. Go ahead. I do not recommend it without a nice fat savings account.

The Lexus ES is one of the most reliable cars out there. When well taken care of, they will run strong for a few hundred thousand miles. A friend of mine has over 300k on an older ES that he still uses as a daily driver with no problems.































Having said that, the inconsistency in annual mileage from year to year is a bit strange, especially if it was a one owner car. The 50K miles in one year is especially worrisome.































Unless the person you're purchasing from can explain what happened, especially in 2007, I would stay away from the vehicle. Inconsistencies in odometer readings are never a good sign.































Are you getting this info from Carfax? Am I right in my assumption that it was a one owner car?
