Default Can a diagnostic code on a Lexus is250 randomly go off?

I had a code to get a tune up as cylinders were misfiring. But suddenly the other day, the code disappeared. Do they disappear on their own or is the car okay? I know I need a tune up soon regardless but it don't understand what happened! Any help? Thanks

often a fault is generated when 'ecu' sees a probelm eg misfire. if misfire goes..( it happens) fault is no longer 'current status' and so light is turned off. it will stay logged in memory banks for a technician to check out later thoug

Diagnostic readout will be able to determine if that fault still exist, and how long it had been there.

It is in the memory of the ECU.

You will need this scantool in order to delete the fault from its memory.

Some faults are transcient and are not permanent. The current value is slightly out of tolerance.

Good luck.
