Default What car is the most fuel efficient and reliable to drive 500 miles daily?

I drive 500 miles a day for work and my current car is starting to mess up. I want to know which car is best in terms of fuel efficient (Hybrid, electric cars ect) and would last me very long. I dont care the price but prefer it to be reasonable as it is just my work car. just list me a few cars so I can start my research on which car to buy. I am a independent contractor and I deliver important packages but I have to use my own car. I want something that would last me very long and that is very very good on gas or rather it be a hybrid car or electric and would last me very very long...

thanks in advance

Electric would be ideal but they don't have the range you need yet. Second best is hybrid. Look at a Prius. The Prius is reliable, economical and has a long track record among hybrids.

I'd suggest investigating the new generation of HDi diesel vehicles, such as the Peugeot 208 or VWs etc. that share the Peugeot motor. These get GREAT economy and have very good power, too.
