Default What causes poor acceleration in a 1990 Lexus ls 400?

Took car to shop and they said I need a new maf and a tune up, I unplugged my maf and the car won't run, does this mean I need a new one? LEXUS LS 400 with 173,xxx miles!!

Th MAF(mass air flow) sensor is needed for the car to even start. It measures the air being taken in and injects just the right amount of fuel to run the car.































Gas powered cars Usually get tune ups around 125,000 miles. MAF sensor can be cleaned using a special MAF cleaner you can buy. If the MAF is bad then you see bad fuel economy, bad acceleration, and maybe even a check engine light.
