Default is300 engine swap good idea?

I'm getting an 01 or 02 is300 I read somewhere you can easily put in a twin turbo supra engine I found one on craiglist for 3500 i also read somewhere else that these cars basically have supra engines just UN tuned and it would be smarter to just add a turbo but Idk what would be better

Don't waste your time or money unless this is your second car. I'm not sure the transmission matches up between these engines, but even if it does it's still going to cost you way behind $3500. $3500 for the engine, plus labor of $1500 plus tuning of $300, plus a full exhaust of $1000 and then hope it all works properly. For that extra $6K couldn't you buy a newer IS350 instead?

I have read about this swap done in an IS (DSport magazine). I have seen it done in the GS (2nd gen) and the older SC's (1st gen). It is an expensive swap and parts for the 2jz aren't cheap, but you can make a ton of power (and look good at the same time).
