Default 08 Scion tC gets worse MPG than 07? why?

2007- MPG: 23 city, 30 highway















2008- MPG: 20 city, 27 highway































Why??? same engine i dont see why it got worse?

Same car different more accurate rating system. Its this way for every car.































For years people have complained that they cant get the EPA mileage on the window sticker. So they came up with a new rating calculation that better estimates todays driving. It uses A/C, faster acceleration, and faster cruising speeds.

for all 08 models the epa ratings are done on highways and citys not on a dyno machine like they was using previously. and all vehicles have taken a large hit from the new ratings. ford and chevy are at the top of that list.

Same milage just different methiod for the EPA testing that is more real world.

I average 25 MPG with mostly city driving in my 08 tC.
