Default I have a 07 scion tc with stock pioneer head unit do i need a new one to hook up a 10" sony xplod

sub? the model is pioneer T1807

It does have the RCA jacks but some people have been telling me if i run the sub through that without having a separate "Sub volume" dial then the sound will go through the speakers and e it will blow the speakers is that true?

i dont think it does have RCA actually so i think i will have to buy a new head unit is my best bet

doesnt the scion TC have a factory sub? i would just upgrade both or atleast just the amp.a sound shop will be able to match you up easily. Toyota made these cars to be upgraded.

if it doesnt have a factory amp and sub, tell us the model number on the CD player and ill tell you what you need.

edit: im having trouble locating whether or not that unit has RCA hook ups or not. just take the cd player out and look for a red and white hookups called RCAs. just like a dvd player uses to get signal to a tv. if it has those, you can hook an amp up to it.
