Default Scion tC questions ..?

I was having a talk with a friend about how I wanted to add some things to my car. Everything right now, is stock. I've been wanting to add a stereo system & also want to make my car faster & have it sound better. & I also want to tint my car.

My friend said it would be pointless to make my car faster & have it sound better since I only have an automatic & now I am starting to think that as well.

Any opinions on what I should do? & I'm not really a car person either, but I do know some brands, AEM, Injen, etc, so helpful tips & things that I could use on my car would be most helpful. Also tint shades that would go well with a silver metallic color.

Thanks.

I have an automatic 06 Scion tC

If ure making a lot more power than stock then automatics are faster than manuals. Taller and less gearing makes for faster times in a drag race. Plus its more consistent too. Uhh i haven't really heard any nice sounding exhauts for the tC but I hope u find something that does.. too many of em sounds crappy lol!

dont go for the trd supercharger, the thing barely puts out horsepower. tubochargers are great for increasing horsepower but void the warranty. cold air intake gets a few horsepower for a few hundred bucks. try these web sites

The automatic tC's are much slower (mid 8 sec to 60) than the manual (mid 7 sec to 60) ones because of the gearing.

Turbos make more power than the TRD S/C but they are more complex and will require more effort/work from you to keep it running properly. If you cant do it yourself get the supercharger. You also lose your warranty with a turbo.

Why would you think it pointless to make an automatic faster. Most people really cant properly drive or race a car with a manual trans. You can make your car as fast as you want if you have enough money.

I LOVE your spirt here. Finally someone that admits the tC isn't some increadibly fast race car but wants to make it her own. Ok, First as for tint, I have an 08 Flint Mica and I got 6% in back and 22% in front. Looks sweet. =) Shop around for the best price and reliability on tint places. Ask friends or check the internet for local tint shops. 2nd, As for sound, let's start with the intake. I got the Injen CAI becuase of the horsepower gain (check the dynos people) and it's beastly sound. You have more options then I do cause there's not a lot out there yet for the 08 tC. Intake is mainly going to let your engine breath better, give you a better sound, and with the right driving, increase your gas mileage. By how much is subjective. Onto the headers, if you wish to do so. Check out ebay for name brand headers if you want better flow of exhaust gases and a little more power. Then exhaust. I have Magnaflow axelback and it's deep and grumbly. Depends if you like the deep sound or the high rice pitch. Some good exhausts are Borla, Greddy, Magnaflow, Injen, and HKS. Check out youtube for sound clips of all of them. And with an auto you get a little less response in sound variation but it will still be MUCH better then stock. Stereo system, thats all what you like and what you can afford. If you want pics of my car, email me forum_snowboarder99@yahoo.com. I'll send you some pics of some things I've done in addition that aren't listed here. =) Take care.

Sorry if there's spelling errors. Typed kinda quick.. =/
