Default Question about after market speakers for Scion TC.?

Has anyone upgraded to after market speakers in their Scion TC? If so, a couple of questions.

1. Did you have to play with the ssp sound function to adjust to a better sound.? I have read that the ssp can make the speakers sound funny?

2. Do they offer component speakers? What would you recommend as far as brands?

I have been partial to Infinfity and JBL. Any suggestions would be great.

Polk or Bose are great sounding especially with sub. Don't forget the kit to turn off speaker amp or you will blow fuses and speakers will sound ungrounded.

yes and yes. we just replaced our rear woofers with ma audio mid bass woofers. They sound great. They sounded even better when we added a little mini 100watt amp to it....the car sounds so full. Componants are already set up./....taht is the great part. Just un screw 3 bolts on the door, and pop the panel off and you take the old out and install the new. The woofers are a little tricky to install but if you have any patience you will figure it out. I like Infinity for the clarity, but I think JBL and JL Audio have the best all around sound

I had a 12 inch JL Audio W3 in my tC. I had the SSP set on 'feel', and actually had the vehicle type set to xA. Hope that helps.
