Default 06 Honda Civic Sedan or 05 Scion tC?

I really want a coupe so I'm looking at the Scion tC because it's not considered a sports car since it has a hatchback. But the Honda Civic sedan gets 6 more miles to the gallon. So, it might be better to go with the Civic. Even though I'd rather have a coupe, does it make a huge difference that the Civic gets 6 more mpg?

Civic's interior is nicer, more modern, and I find, more comfortable and fun to drive. This car has better resale value and reliability.

I would personally get a civic because they are more reliable and safe. The tc has 20 more hp but their quality of materials are not as good so you may have a little more mechanical trouble. The civic may not be a coupe but it can be just as good, even better than a tc.

Okay, so as a previous owner of an '03 Civic and a current owner of a '13 tC, I can offer some advice...

The tC does have more hp, but less mpg...however, you still get good mpg out of them. Personally, I was VERY unhappy with the power of the Civic. And to the person that said tCs are made of poor materials - all cars are pretty equivalent in that area - unless you buy a more expense European car.

The newer the car, the less reliable/junkier they are...this has been occurring for many generations now.
