Default So I just bought a Brand New Black 2013 Scion FR-S and it has very light scratches all over the car?

I told the lady about the scratches that I bought it from and she says that's its normal and that it's on all the black FR-S cars. Sadly it was the only one there. You can see it a little in the shade, but if you look at the car in the sun from a certain angle it's pretty noticeable on the close up view. Can anyone tell me if what she's saying could possibly be true, that this is normal? I always thought brand new cars were suppose to look "brand new". It could be the type of paint they use that is sensitive to scrubbing. The color of the paint is called Black Raven.

Many dealerships hire people to wash their cars....if you watched them work you would see they are only worried about washing them quickly and not with proper methods...using dirty rags, etc....

I have also seen dealerships buff cars upon sale, however they use an inexperienced car jockey to do it resulting in scratches all over....

It is not normal, the lady was BSing you....

The solution is to "clay bar" the car and wax...watch the video....

That is normal.

In all cars, car wash brushes scratch the paint. Those scracthes are typically spiral scratches that you can only see in certain angels in the sun. They must have washed the car at some point.

Obviously, the darker the color, the easier to see these scratches.

I have a black car. I NEVER use brushes to wash the car. I only use Shamois or lint free cotton towels to rub down the car and I use high pressure water/soap hose to wash.
