Default Help installing a kenwood dnx6190hd headunit?

I want to begin with the fact I know little to nothing about wiring or electronics for cars. I've wanted to buy a new headunit for my 2008 tC for quite sometime now and I bought a Kenwood DNX6190HD off of eBay that was previously used for a civic si in fact he left it so everything is wired and setup for a civic.

I want to know what do I have to buy for the head unit. The seller said I would need a harness and other things. I think he said the cage is already installed (I don't know what that is) do I need another cage for mt tC? Please list everything I would need and if possible links to where I can purchase them.

Also would I be able to keep the controls on my steering wheel and the Ipod cable in the middle storage compartment?

Thank you for the help.

What you want to buy is..

1: VEHICLE SPECIFIC wiring harness. This plugs in directly to the wire harness coming from your car behind your stereo where you will wire the stereo's harness to.

2: Crimp connectors (very cheap.. pick them up at any auto shop.. you want the RED 18-22 kind)

Step 1. Disconnect battery.

Step 2 take harness out of stereo you bought and then bring both harnesses (Vehicle specific and stereo harness) to somewhere light. You will now connect all the wires to each other via crimp connectors. Match colors!! grey crimps to grey, grey black to grey black, white to white, white black to white black and pretty much do EXACTLY what this guy is doing --->

Step 3.. plug in harnesses and now crimp your BLACK/ground wire to the wire that was grounding your previous system.. Or dont crimp it and find a new spot to ground the wire.

Step 4. You want to remove the rails on your previous head unit and put them on your new head unit. If that doesn't work the rails that are on it possibly will work for mounting.. if not buy vehicle specific rails for aftermarket stereos.

Step 5. mount it up.. everything i missed is probably explained in that video! helped me a lot!! its exactly how I wired up my new HU a few months ago and its sturdy as any professional wire HU I've had.
