Aside from the bad ratings, should I go with the Scion IQ, Fiat 500, or the Smart Car?

Default Aside from the bad ratings, should I go with the Scion IQ, Fiat 500, or the Smart Car?

Okay, I've heard of all the bad safety reviews for these smaller cars - Scion IQ, Fiat 500, and the Smart car. However, I still want to get one as a "neighborhood" car. Something I could drive if I needed to quickly go to the grocery store or mainly to use to go and meet up with friends to play tennis. It will be mainly a weekend car really since I have another car to use should I ever need to take the highway for longer drives.

I went to an auto show to check them out and frankly the Scion IQ and the Fiat felt great. I'm not a big person so both felt really roomy for me. I didn't get a chance to sit on the Smart car since too many people were lined up to check it out. I live like within a mile of the tennis court where I play. The grocery store is within half a mile.

I live in a big city too and my problem with my big car is that it is hard to find parking closer to the downtown area when I want to hangout with friends. Any comments is much appreciated.

Why not get a Kia? A Mitsubishi is great if in your price range. That way you won't be at the repair shop all the time. I was a Fiat mechanic in the 70's. Fix It Again Tony sound familiar? FIAT!

The Scion iQ all the way!! It's made by Toyota so you know you're getting a well-built car that will last forever. It has more style than the ugly Smarte car, and true, Fiats also have style but they're made at Chrysler plants, which isn't a very good car brand. Go with the iQ and you'll get a reliable, unique car that will get awesome mpg.
