Default How much oil after replacing oil pan?

I just replaced the oil pan on my 2005 Scion tC and everywhere I looked, it says the 2005 Scion tC takes between 3.7 - 5 liters of oil but I think I have put about 6 liters of oil and still nothing seems to appear on the dipstick. There is no leak. Do I have to put more oil than a usual oil change?

If you don't see anything on the dipstick you would have to add oil until you can. I don't see why you would have to add more oil than normal but you definitely DO NOT want to try to start it when it does not have enough oil. You can ruin the engine. A little bit to much oil will do no harm but not enough can be devastating.

Something is not right. Changing the pan should not require any more oil than a regular oil and filter change. Sometimes fresh oil can be very hard to see on the dipstick..double check this. Tou have to wipe the dipstick dry and look for the shiny level mark. Either that or you put on an oversized pan (which I doubt) or you added the oil in the wrong place.
