Default 2006 scion TC clutch?

I have a clutch, on my 2006 scion TC, that once you get it rolling is great, but to get it to take off, I need to have it on the floor and the engage is like an inch or so...I also have a 2012 mustang and that clutch seems like it has 3 or 4 inches before it stars to reengage as you're lifting your foot for take off...Is that normal to only need to lift your foot 1 inch for reengagement ? Or is the clutch going out or something?

in the service or shop manual , it should have the clutch petal free play measurements. Yes, it seems your clutch is wearing out. With your finger, push the petal in and out. Free play should be about an inch or two. No more.
