Default 96 Camry Seat Belt Retractors...

....Can they be adjusted to rewind better? Tired of fiddling with them to
get them up so I can close the front doors.

Quite common in those yrs. Happened to mine I simply extended it & washed
both sides, silicon spray on the base of mechanism. It'll take a few days to
work in. The results will be rewarding.

Toyota replaced my front ones a couple of times. Just a lousy, too weak in
the spring retractor design.

Thanx for the tip...think there's still some left in that can way down on
the bottom shelf.

Was that during the warranty period? Long since past, in my case.

Mines the same on my 1995 Camry

There was a mention on here about 2 years ago on how to dismantle them and
retention the coils spring.

Maybe you can find it in the achieves.

I did ask some months ago about Toyota replacing them regardless of age as a
safety issue
as it seems Honda do.

But I never received any replies.
I did spray mine as mentioned but it did seem a short lived improvement.
But they are a pain in the A**

As are mine. I have to be careful they don't get caught in the doors.
