Ordered this watch as a daily wear for husband, thinking if he didn't like it, I didn't spend much, so we could both live with the choice. As it turns out, he loves my taste! Nice watch for the price and so far it's holding up great!
This is a nice watch for the price. The leather band is comfortable, and the face is easy to read. Having the date at the 3:00 position makes it easier to read than on my old watch, where it was at the 6:00 position. The Indiglo feature is nice to have and works well. So far, I have no complaints. This is a good functioning watch at a very reasonable price.
This watch, years after its initial release, continues to be a classic. The Band:It sports a leather band. While this does not ingratiate Timex with PETA it does keep the time piece from becoming identified as something from a particular part of the 21st century. (Remember the watches with the oh-so-cool thin pieces of rubber that worked as a band. And then there are the Velcro-based sports watches.) The FaceThe face of the watch looks stylishly antiquated... like something Indiana Jones might sport. It is clean and easy to read in any setting. Furthermore, when the indiglo is activated it comes across really well. The FlawThe glass face is not easily scratched but would benefit from some type of guard. Without some protection the more active wearer will eventually vitiate the beauty with scratches. The FutureIt would be good to see Timex release this watch with a little more variation in the color of the face. Suggested colors (with hexadecimal values) follow gold (FFCC00) blue (6699FF) green (999933)Roderick L. Barnes, Sr
I really enjoyed this watch...until it started losing time. I'm not sure if it is a defect or if the battery was going bad. I thought it was the latter, so I took the back off, popped in a new battery, and that's where my story ends. You see, the back is impossible to put back on. I tried pliers, but chipped the glass in the front trying to get the thing on. It's sad, because I really enjoyed this watch.
This is the second watch of this model I have owned. The first one lasted 5 years. It would have lasted longer but was accidentally broken by something no watch would survive. I have also owned Swiss Army watches. In my opinion, this watch is as good, actually has better features (indiglow) and is a fraction of the cost.
Designed for active, outdoor lifestyles--as well as the rigors of harsh urban landscapes--the full-sized Timex T44381 Expedition stainless steel watch adds a stylish yet rugged complement to your everyday wear. It features a large, round silver stainless steel watch case with flattened, brushed bezel that frames a white dial background with Arabic numerals, inset 24-hour notations in red, large, luminous stick hands (with seconds hand), and a date display at 3 o'clock. With the Quick Date function, you can set the date on the watch without turning the crown for every 24-hour period. Just pull the stem halfway out, and turn until desired date is reached. It also offers an 8-year battery life, water resistance to 50 meters (165 feet), and a genuine leather strap in brown. The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer.
