Default Why Camry over the Accord?

Dear Toyota group members:

I am having a hard time trying to decide whether or not to buy a Camry
SE V6 or Accord EX-V6

Just want to know if you guys can offer any expert opinions on why
would you choose a Camry over the Accord?

Because the Accord has been butt-ugly since around 1994.

I just have had bad experiences with Honda, not the reliability, but
design issues. When I wrote to Honda, they acknowledged the design
problem (this was with a C-RV), but said that they had no plans to
correct it. Actually they did correct the problem (with the cruise
control) on the next year of the same model, but they would not retrofit
the fix onto the previous year, even though it was a relatively easy fix.

I think the current Accord is much better looking than the current Camry.

Yeah, I used to be a Honda lover until I had two bad experiences with
them. I bought a brand new 1998 Honda Civic, and the water pipe broke
after 2 weeks of driving. It was obviously a warranty fix but the
impression was not good.

Then I bought a 1999 Honda Odysey and the engine never sounded nor
worked right. Later it turned out there was a massive recall to some
engine parts. Thought the problem is fixed until the gears doesn't
shift right, and then no surprise there that there was a transmission
recall.

Not exactly impress with Honda despite all the advertising about them
being the most reliable automobile. I guess I'm just extremely lucky.

You describe the Camry as "a old person car" as if THAT were something BAD.
Old people usually have far better judgment and far more wisdom than most
"young" people so, if us oldsters happen to prefer Camry to Accord, that is
because WE KNOW BETTER.
