Default ABC News Video: What to do if your car runs out of control

One thing mentioned is do not pump the brakes! You'll use up the
vacuum reserve and end up without effective braking as the engine
accelerates out of control.

With the zig-zag shifter, practice shifting into neutral in a safe
area first. It may not be as simple as pushing the shifter forward on
some models.

Is that true with your 1998 Kia?
