Default 1996 toyota camry le turn the key to start nothing dash lights come on.

Have the car put on tow truck take to Toyota take off tow truck car start up
done this twice now. could it be the ground wire?

Classic problem: could be the starter solenoid.

When I had that problem the auto electrician connected the wire from the key
to a relay on the battery which connected the battery directly to the
solenoid.
