Default strange noise in rear

We have a '97 Camry that has just started making this odd noise in the rear.
When you come to a stop you hear a creak or groan, and then what sounds like
liquid(gasoline) sloshing around for a few seconds.
Before we take it in, has anyone had a similiar problem or know what it could
be.
Thanks!

Check the spare tire wheel well - it may be filled with water from leaky
trunk!

Maybe a leaking trunk where water and
Ice have formed under the spare or in
the storage compartments?
