Newer environmentally friendly paint formulations may have problems of
their own, but generally speaking the best way to protect paint and
improve appearance is to investigate the Zaino products.

My Camry is much older than yours - 1994, prior owner left it baking in
the sun to the point that after several months (faint effect) I noticed
some color fade beginnng in localized areas. This is the beginning of
the end for paint. But with the Zaino products, that paint has
essentially been restored. Has something like SPF40 UV protection,
added so much reflectivity that the fade is virtually
nondistinguishable. Plus their product that fills fine hazy lines would
be even better for your black color. Also recommend their catalyst
product. If the paint can be saved, that ought to do it. If it's a
product of defective chemistry in the bonding of the finish, then
probably wouldn't help. You might have to check with a local body shop
to get the opinion of a knowledgeable professional.
For the DIYer, the Zaino products can be quite remarkable. Plan on
spending over $100 and about a week's work (allowing time for cure
between applications). Follow all the recommendations from Dawn, clay
bar, and Fieldcrest towels - the results can be spectacular.

Its under warranty, paint problems occur. Parking in the sun is the
worst.

i'm going in to see the dealer on thursday, but i was wondering if anyone
else was or heard of a problem. i know several yrs. ago ford or chevy had a
problem w/ their truck line and the hoods and roofs of the p/up were just
peeling and cracking left and right. i wasn't sure if something similar was
happening.

Maybe from the Dealer.
I have difficulty believing the factory sends them out that way.
