Default 98 Camry Solara able to use a hitch to haul????

I am moving and I need to haul a small trailer. I don't know if a hitch can
be attached to this model, or if it can even stand the weight.

I wouldn't if I were you. The Solara is a sporty car, not designed for
hauling trailers. Better to rent a truck and a trailer to carry your
Solara instead. The extra money you spend doing that would be much less
than getting your Solara repaired if you use it to tow a trailer, IMHO.

should be like a camry up to 1000lbs. I tow with my 4 cylinder camry a
small boat weighing about 600 total.

I put a "light duty" hitch or tow-bar on my '96 4 cyl Camry. You need to
realise these cars are not rear-wheel drive 6 or V8s which weight 1/2 a ton
more and thus can haul a heavy load.

My handbook says:

Max towing loads

Trailer with brakes

5SFE 1100kg (approx a ton)
3VZFE 1200KG

Without brakes
Both engines 500KG

Tow ball vertical weight 80kg

------------------------------------------------------

I'd like to add, there is no way I would try to tow a 1100 kg trailer + load
with a 4 cyl Camry.

If you just want to tow a box trailer (6ft by 4ft or 8ft by 4ft) with total
weight no more than 500kg, then a light duty hitch would be more than
adequate. They cost about $200, take an hour to fit if you have the tools
and know-how to hook-up the trailer plug for lights etc.

The light duty hitch uses the 4 bolts already in situ on the two rear
chassis rails holding on the vehicle towing eyelet-brackets. Then you need
to drill a few holes in the spare-wheel well for the centre anchor brackets.
This doesnt cause any sparer tyre probs as the bolts heads are on the inside
of the well and are not going to harm anything.
