I don't know if Maxlife falls under this category, but "high mileage"
oils contain additives to "swell" the oil seals.
Usually if you subsequently stop using that "seal swelling" additive,
the seals are left in a weakened condition and are more likely to leak.

That isnt what they claim nowadays,Daniel. Used to be that way, but
they claim they are using polymer technology now to help the seals
work without swelling them.. Maybe true, maybe not.
