Can someone verify that the correct allen wrench size for the auto
tranny drain plug is 10 MM ?

You'll want to get the Allen socket that works with a ratchet handle.
10mm should be fine. I use an adapter to 1/2" drive to make it easier
to remove. Best to use a new aluminum gasket each time.
If you drain overnight, you'll remove almost an extra quart.
Measure the amount drained as a guide to re filling.
Check hot after minimum 10 miles.
