Default 95 camry brake light problem

Over the past half year my brakelight indicator on the dash would come
on, and my middle brakelight would not go on when i presed the break
peddle. I would kind of ignore it and it would go off in about a week
and everything was normal, and the brakelights functioned correctly.

Recently the warning indicator came on again, and it was again the
middle brake light. So I had time now and removed the covering and was
going to replace the bulb but after replacing the bulb the light still
doesnt work and the brakelight warning on the dash is still on.

My friend with a 94 camry had a similar problem but never solved it.

Is it a relay thing or a fuse thing?

I checked the wiring and there are no breaks.

I had a similar problem on my 95 4cyl.

But it was always a blown Brake light.
But it did fool me some.

I think "maybe" you have a broken core going to that lamp or a bad
seating in the holder that could look like an open circuit lamp.
Can you check it with a volt meter ?. Just a thought.

I know the Brake Dash pot level is fairly sensitive to fluid levels.

I have had my Camry 11 years from new 84.000 miles now.
The same Brake bulb has blown 3 times.
Yet no other has.

Is it just my bad luck or do Japanese cars in general have many
electrical problems. I had quite a few with my old Honda and my Toyota
has had quite a few, also. But the Toyota ('95, 156,000 miles) keeps on
rolling in spite of burned out "D" light, erratic dome light, corroded
connections to the door, occasional tail light problems, LCD segments
burned "ON" on the radio display, power antenna that got bent over,
LoJack not working sometimes, .....

I sympathize with your electrical problems, but if you think a Japanese car
has poor electrics, try owning a French car, or even worse, an English car
with Lucas
junk in it. (Mazda is the bringer of light, and Lucas is the prince of
darkness.)
