Default Runner Up Once Again for Christian Eckes

Eckes took the lead early in the race and battled inside the top-10 for a majority of the event, but knew he had to pass the veteran driver (Matt Crafton) to win. “I tried moving around and we sucked yesterday. We were so damn bad, but Rudy (Fugle, crew chief) and the guys, I can’t say enough about them. They made some really good adjustments today and we got it way better last night,” Eckes said reflecting on yesterday’s race. “P2 is still good, but of course we wish we still won. In the same aspect, from where we even started today, finishing second is still pretty close. Just have to go back and figure out what we can do better.”
Series points leader and last night’s winner Austin Hill finished sixth, Derek Kraus seventh, Brandon Jones eighth and Raphaël Lessard 11th.
The NASCAR Truck Series is back in action on Friday, August 7th from Michigan International Speedway. Coverage begins at 6PM ET on FS1 and can be heard on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
