Default Toyota Drivers Score Three Kansas Wins

“Just went and got it there at the end,” said Hamlin in victory lane. “I saw the 4 (Kevin Harvick) get loose and usually when you’re loose, you’re not able to run up high. That was a benefit for us to be able to get that momentum going. The pit crew did an amazing job getting us out there ahead of everyone else that had four tires. Proud of this whole FedEx team. We can win any given week and that’s something that is really hard to come by. This team is good at short tracks, intermediates, superspeedways.” Denny Hamlin Martin Truex Jr. (third) and Erik Jones (fifth) also earned top-five results at Kansas. Truex led 44 laps, while Kyle Busch led the field for 52 laps and won the first stage of the race before finishing 11th.

Brandon Jones won his second NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) race of the season at Kansas on Saturday with a last-lap pass in overtime en route to victory lane. “We’ve had speed every single race this year,” said Jones. “It’s closing these things out and optimizing the little things. The cool thing about winning with this group is we’re not just work colleagues, we’re best friends. This whole team is a brotherhood. We all have each other’s back and no one questions anything that anybody does. I feel like when one person isn’t able to do something, the next guy steps up automatically and no one questions it. We’re a really strong group and a really strong team.” Brandon Jones Supra drivers Harrison Burton finished third and Riley Herbst earned a ninth-place result in the race. The NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series (NGROTS) competed in two races at Kansas Speedway, the first time the series competed in a doubleheader race weekend. Tundra driver Austin Hill was victorious in Friday night’s event -- his first of the 2020 season as he continues to lead the Truck Series championship point standings with two races left in the series regular season. “This is awesome and we’ve been working so hard for this,” said Hill. “Can’t thank everybody enough at HRE, Scott (Zipadelli, crew chief) and the guys, they work their tails off week in and week out. That last pit stop, I tried to brake check a little bit and got out in fourth because I wanted to be in the high lane. I got tagged from behind, that was my fault and I apologize to Brett (Moffitt) when he hit me. I had it for Scott and the guys, they now have to replace the bumper to get ready for tomorrow. But I think the win was worth it. Austin Hill In Saturday’s NGROTS race, four Tundra racers scored top-10 results with Christian Eckes finishing runner-up to race-winner Matt Crafton. Hill (sixth), Derek Kraus (seventh) and Brandon Jones (eighth) also earned top-10 results. “Rudy (Fugle, crew chief) and the guys, I can’t say enough about them. They made some really good adjustments today and we got it way better last night,” said Eckes. “P2 is still good, but of course we wish we still won. In the same aspect, from where we even started today, finishing second is still pretty close. Just have to go back and figure out what we can do better. Overall, proud of my Safelite Tundra guys.” Christian Eckes Five Camry racers finished in the top-10 in Friday’s ARCA Menards Series race at Kansas. Ryan Repko finished runner-up to race-winner Bret Holmes with Herbst (third) and Corey Heim (fourth) rounding out the top-five finishers.
