Millville Results HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (July 16, 2011) – Round seven of the AMA Motocross Championship was held at Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, Minn. As reported yesterday, Muscle Milk/Toyota/JGRMX Team rider Davi Millsaps sat out to rest his left knee which was badly bruised during the second moto at Red Bud Track and Trail in Buchanan, Mich. on July 2. Millsaps condition will continue to be evaluated but he is expected to race the next round of the series. On Friday torrential rains left the track a quagmire for Saturday morning practice. The course dried somewhat prior to racing, but was still soft and treacherous. Justin Brayton gated well at the start of the first moto and was near the front of the pack heading into turn one when a rider to his inside collided into him. Brayton was able to stay up after the impact, but was instantly at the rear of the 40 rider field. Determined, Brayton charged forward through the pack, a feat especially difficult in the muddy conditions as each rider he closed on was throwing a wet steady spray of sand and mud from their rear wheels. When the checkered flag waved Brayton had worked his way up to 12th place. At the start of the second moto Brayton once again had a good start, and this time he rounded the first turn clean in sixth position. Throughout the moto he negotiated the rutted track inside the top-10, changing positions several times ultimately claiming seventh position. Brayton’s 12 – seven moto scores earned him ninth overall for the day.
