Most fuel lights come on when there's about 2 gals left in tank. Since most toyotas can give you about 30mpg, then you've got about 50-60 miles you can travel. But if you allow 40-50, that will give you a little bit of margin so you can coast into that gas station on fumes and a stalled engine!! Like I've done a few times!!

Could be 20, could be zero.

The light is telling you that you're soon to be out of fuel.

It is not saying you have any specific amount of driving left.

I've seen some cars run out right as that light turns on, and some go for 50+ miles after it pops on.

The point is to refill before you even see that light, so it's pretty pointless anyway.

It's damaging to your fuel pump to run it that low, but I somehow doubt you'll care.....
