Default hi, I have a Toyota avensis 53 diesel?

I accidently filled it with petrol and previously I had 10 litre diesel. I sadly drove it about 10 mile before realising, and the car just stopped, since then the car is not starting. I pulled it to my nearest garage, he drained it, changed fuel filter and we filled it up with diesel, but it did not start so the mechanic said that I should leave it over night to cool of. The next day did not start, he drain the diesel and clean the fuel pipe but still did not start. Now he told me to take it to the Toyota dealers to put it in the diagnosis test to find where the problem is coming from. And I am afraid that they might ask for hundreds if not thousand. Can you please advice me on what should I do, if there is anyway out. thanks

Diesel fuel lubricates the diesel injection pump as it is a kind of oil. It sounds like the lack of lubrication may have ruined the pump and so you will need a new one.

Driving a short distance on mainly petrol often has expensive results.

Good luck with that.

What area are you in? I can get it plugged into a diagnostics machine and also look at your diesel system for you. After the diagnostics I can also do the work for you.

Email for more details if necessary.
