Default Toyota Prius with a lot of miles?

I have been looking at a 2005 Toyota Prius with 101,000 miles. Is this a lot of miles for a hybrid? Are they expensive to fix?

It's higher than average mileage for a car of that age. However, with proper care a Prius will keep working for a lot longer. Therefore, the biggest thing to check is the maintenance records for the car. Make sure that it's been worked on by someone competent, as some things (Inverter coolant, transaxle lube) are easy to mess up and expensive to fix.

Also consider that anything that breaks will be on your dime, as this car is just outside any warranty. (Unless it's a California vehicle, in which case the main battery should be covered up to 150,000 miles)

You may also want to join the Toyota-Prius Yahoo group. There's lots of experience there.
