I have to agree with Jay601. That is the best generation of one of the best cars ever made IMHO- definitely the most reliable. The front main seal is usually what they call the front crank seal. This is usually replaced when you have your timing belt replaced. Has the timing belt been replaced? Being that the seal is leaking , I'm going to assume that the timing belt has not been replaced. If not, that's going to be a $500-600 for a complete service from an honest mechanic- which includes replacing all belts, waterpump, crank seal and cam seal. you can skimp and do an item or two at a time but you will save hundreds of dollars in the long run if you pay the money and do the service all at once. The reason is because they already have to take all of those parts off to get to the timing belt and seals. might as well pay the labor once instead of over and over again each time one of those items fails- and they will fail.
