Default Toyota Celica GT-S Clutch Help?
My Toyota Celica GT-S 2004 When switching gears my car revs up from 3 to 5rpm then goes back to 2 when switching gears.... I want to know what the problem is because i don't think it should be doing that. Also there is a strong burning smell coming out of the engine once i get out of the car. Any help please? I know i'm not keeping my leg on the clutch so thats not the problem

your clutch is slipping. You need to replace it. As another test, put the car in 5th or 6th gear (whichever) and stay in the 30-40 mph range, then floor the car, if the RPM's rise quickly but you don't pick up speed, then your clutch is definitely bad.

You have clutch burn which happens when the driver rides the clutch when revving. When that happens the clutch disc has over heated and hence the burning smell.
