Well the owner of Toyota (last name Toyoda) is the grandson of the founder and is a part time racer. He has said that Toyota needs to be refreshed with more interesting and fun cars, so he is developing the next Celica which will closely resemble the last Supra. I think it's called the FT86 right now.
Subaru and Toyota are going to share the concept and they'll both develop their own variants. The base model will be a RWD 4-cylinder and then they're making a 200+ hp turbo version. Should be interesting.
But yes, Toyota right now is boring as hell.
