difference between all terrain and now tires?

Default difference between all terrain and now tires?
daughter moving to Boulder and has front wheel drive and newish all terrain tires, should I buy snow tires?

Most definitely.































All-season or all-terrains are nice, and do a hundred times better than a summer only tire in light snow, but won't come close to what a real Snow tire can and will do. I'd imagine Boulder is more snow than ice, if I'm wrong and it's rather icy, I would consider studded snow tires.

All terrain tires vary widely in snow performance, check out some reviews of the specific tire as it relates to snow driving before purchasing new snow tires. In most cases an all terrain type tire will perform well in snowy weather, particularly if it is a mild design with the tread block close together. The farther apart and the larger the tread blocks are, the worse the winter weather performance, smaller blocks closer together will offer more biting edges in slick conditions.

Yes, specially for Boulder. And she has only front wheel drive.
