After I reach the end of what maintenance intervals in the manual, I essentially start over (though I leave out the new-car maintenance). Do whatever's required at the 30,000 mile interval.
$550 is a bit outrageous. Why not take your car to an independent shop, rather than the dealer? My dealer wanted $400 for my 30,000 mile service. The independent shop I went to charged me $28 and did all the inspections and service that the manual called for. Most of the "big" services like 30/60/90k are just "inspection" services and some minor work (e.g. change the oil, oil filter, etc.) rather than major work.
That said, if you're mechanically handy, you could just pick up a Haynes or Chilton's service manual for about $20-$25 at any auto parts store and see what they recommend. Odds are you can do all the work yourself for next to nothing.
