How many miles should I expect to get out of my Toyota Camry?

Default How many miles should I expect to get out of my Toyota Camry?
I bought a used Toyota Camry('96) with 143,000 miles on it. It runs great, looks good. I paid $2800 and I'm just wondering really how many miles I should expect If I take good care of it. Some say Toyota's last forever but we all know nothing really lasts forever.

More than 500,000 miles.































That said, the responsibility is on you, to keep it well maintained, so that it reaches that, and doesn't die early.

Take care of it..they are jewels..I bought an 89 for my daughter when she started college..Just last yr she traded for a new Corolla..she had 342,000 miles on the 89. she always changed the oil & filters herself..usually at 2,000 miles..She sold her old car privately for $2100.

Unless you know the maintenence history of your car, you should really focus on the things that should have been replaced by this time. The things that many people don't pay attention to. If you can locate a manual for it, it will outline all the items that will need attention. Like the timing belt has to be replaced at 80 to 100 thousand miles. It may require the O2 sensors be replaced. And a transmission flush if it's an automatic. Or a tranny oil change if it's a manual. The coolant should be changed too if it hasn't already. As long as you can keep up on what is required for the car, a Toyota can go 300,000 miles and more.

It is all according to how hard that drunk driver hits you. If it's a fender bender quite a few, but if it is a side hit probably not many.

According to a review that I read online, with regular maintenance you should get 200-225K miles out of your Camry.















Let's see... 15,000 miles per year (divided by) the remaing 75,000 miles you could expect equals 5 years.















$2,800 (divided by) 60 months equals $47/month!















Hmmm, doesn't seem like too bad of a deal!
