The steering wheel is set into a fixed position on it's shaft, if you were to take it all apart, you would see it only goes on there in one position. To center it you have to adjust the tierods. The tierods are threaded bars that connect the wheels to the steering wheel. They are adjustable and if your car doesn't track straight when the steering wheel is centered you can adjust the tierods to fix this. I recommend that you go to an alignment shop and tell them about your problem and they'll adjust it for about 50$. It's a simple fix. If you want to do it yourself I recommend you do some research on the steering system in general because although messing with the steering wheel seems like the easiest way, it's not the correct way.
