Toyota Avalon VSC light 'on'?

Default Toyota Avalon VSC light 'on'?
I have a 2000 Avalon XLS and the VCS 'on' and 'off' lights stay on all the time. Took the car to Toyota delaerships, one found code C0208 (steering position censor) , and cleared the codes. The lights came back on in 2 weeks. Another dealer found code: C1208/54 , cause RM746U1. Calibrated steering , lights came back on in a week. Any suggestions ? Thanks!

Take it to ONE dealer only!































Sounds like the techs are rushing just to get the vehicle out the door and not testing the system. Go back and have them fix it correctly. You paid once and I would inform them you do not expect to for any more diagnostic fees.

most likly you need a newpositioning sensor,(did the wheel swing back hard at some point)and then yes it needs to get recalibrated,see the thing is this code comeson when steering is hit or something,usally a recalibration takes care of this,so befor replaceing the part they will try this,but if light comes back then they will replace it,go to 1 dealership cause every time you go to a different one they start from scratch,(your paying the labour)
