If you don't plan on any real wheelin, then you may be able to get away with IFS. Its when you get off road you put a real strain on the IFS components, especially the cv axle shafts. 38" tires carry too much inertia when moving and stopping and have quite a bit of leverage against your steering and suspension components. Look for the front axle out of straight axle Toyota trucks, they make for easy swaps and maintain the same width. You could also look at the front axle from older Chevy pickups, they have a passenger side differential. Toyotas 8" rear axle should be capable of handling it.
