My 1998 Toyota is getting REALLY poor gas mileage?

Default My 1998 Toyota is getting REALLY poor gas mileage?
The check engine light was constantly on in my car. We put the scanner on it and replaced both O2 sensors. Oil changes and other maintenance are regular. The air filter has been replaced, fluids are good but, my car is only getting between 200 and 250 miles to a tank of gas. What else can I do?

Could you have a leak? An exhaust gas analyzer,will show if it is running rich.

What about the spark plugs? Fuel filter?

Look at the color of the spark plugs, they are like a quick glimpse into the engine. Here's a guide

You did not identify which Toyota model (bigger 6 cylinders get less) as well as your mileage (our Sienna XLE has 125,000 miles from brand new) PLUS note winter gets less bec at least we warm up before in early morning before work...but guess what I go farther maybe average 20 mpg than my wife's 2005 6 cylinder AWD Highlander that only has 50,000 miles.































Yes, new spark plugs might help...
