Pruis: anyone else have problems with the latch for the hatchback?

Default Pruis: anyone else have problems with the latch for the hatchback?
The latch on the hatchback seems melted and requires several tries to get the hatch back to open. The dealer indicated that this is a design defect, but unfortunately i am out of warranty.































The latch is mounted in a very flimsy plastic assembly that eventually fell off of the car completely. I had to epoxy it back into place, but it still feels likes its about to fall off again.

We have several of them in our fleet and never had a problem. You can replace the switch yourself being its already coming off or by-pass the electrical to the switch and just use the FOB.
