Why is it that US manufacture's cannot stand up against Toyota?

It is all personal preference. I believe GM is better than Toyota.

Toyota is actually striving to make a difference. Produce a affordable vehicle that gets good gas mileage. American producers bang em out, feel if they meet standards good enough. I'm an American, and I thought I will only buy American products, but until the government cracks down on the big three to meet higher fuel standards, I am sorry, I am going to buy a Toyota.

Yes Toyota is better made than Us cars. The reason Toyota is better is because labor wages in a Japan are way lower than ours, therefore they can afford to experiment with the way they do things. I love Us and HAD intended only on buying US but until we can stand to their standards such as 35 miles a gallon I WILL KEEP BUYING JAPAN

American labour is expensive, and the workers are often lazy. I think the main problem is that the American makes were in a slump in the late 80's early 90's, when the Japanese started to get a really good foothold. American cars have improved greatly since then, but people are too brainwashed by outrageous television adverts to notice.
