oil leak, 1994 4Runner V6?

Default oil leak, 1994 4Runner V6?
I have a small oil leak coming from the valve cover gasket that needs to be corrected. Are these model gaskets cork or rubber? (1994 4Runner SR5 V6) I was told if I tighten down too much on the nuts to the housing, the cork will break...any constructive advice would be most appreciated!

It's easy to replace. Don't tighten more than facotory specs and especially if the gasket has been on there for a while. No matter what the material, with enough heat and time anything can get brittle.

Just turn then a bit not much and see if leak stops or slows down , ive done it on different cars it will help to delay the job of replacing the gasket for awhile anyways .

The Gasket is Rubber from teh Factory.















Usually when they start to leak they have started to crack.















Take your time and they are not hard to do.















Get a Plenum gasket to as you will have to take of the intake to get both valvecover gaskets.
